About Freestyle Travel Gear

Founder Kenny Flannery left his day-to-day life in New York City in 2007, abandoning all his possessions that couldn't fit in his backpack and has been traveling ever since. He quickly realized that although he'd given up most of his physical belongings, he was now carrying 100% of what he had left, so every ounce mattered. It wasn't long until he not only purged unnecessary gear, but also started thinking of how to make every item he had efficient. Starting with Freestyle Travel Gear's flagship piece of gear, the BivyPack, Kenny started sharing his thought-out ideas with travelers everywhere looking to both simplify their life and lighten their load on the road.
